A faithful congregation rooted in grace, community, and the Reformed tradition since 1954.
The building on Lafayette Avenue has stood here since 1954 โ first as Second Reformed Church, and since 2008 as Abundant Life Reformed Church, born of a merger that brought two faithful congregations into one. More than seventy years of worship, prayer, and shared life have shaped this corner of Wyckoff.
We are not a destination church. We are a neighborhood church. Our mission is not somewhere far away โ it is right here. The Kaleidoscope dementia ministry, our Bible studies, our Sunday gatherings, the friendships forged over coffee in the fellowship hall โ these are how we love Wyckoff and the towns around us, one person at a time.
What you will actually feel when you walk through our doors is warmth. People who ask your name and remember it. A pastor who preaches from the heart. A congregation that celebrates together and mourns together. This is a real community โ imperfect, growing, and genuinely glad you are here.
Plan Your Visit โ
We believe we have been called to live the Gospel within the community in which we have been placed โ not somewhere on the other side of the globe. That means here, now, in Wyckoff and our neighboring communities.
From the Kaleidoscope dementia care ministry to serving healthy lunches in the food deserts of Newark, to community events raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis research and suicide prevention โ we believe the church is at its best when it is serving its neighbors in its own backyard.
We are a congregation ordered around worship, formed in discipleship, and rooted in the neighborhood God has placed us in.
Every Sunday we gather to hear God's Word proclaimed, to pray, to sing, and to receive the sacraments. Worship is not a warm-up โ it is the center of everything. We hold together the ancient and the immediate, the hymn and the heart.
We are committed to growing together in faith โ through Sunday School, Bible study, small groups, and the honest conversations that happen over coffee. Following Jesus is a lifelong journey, and we walk it together.
The gospel sends us outward โ but outward begins right here. From the Kaleidoscope dementia care ministry to community events to showing up for our neighbors in concrete ways, we believe the church is at its best when it is serving the people right around it.
Abundant Life is a congregation of the Reformed Church in America โ the oldest Protestant denomination in continuous service in the United States, founded in 1628 by Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam (now New York City).
The RCA holds to the historic Reformed confessions โ the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort. Our heritage is scripture-anchored, sacrament-centered, graciously Reformed โ and always reforming.
What that means for us in Wyckoff is simple: we take the Word seriously, we take the sacraments seriously, and we take our neighbors seriously. We are committed to the people we worship with on Sunday and to the people we live next door to the rest of the week.
About the RCA โThe people who pour themselves into the life of this congregation every week.
We would love to meet you. Come any Sunday โ no expectations, no pressure, just a genuine welcome.
