On Tuesday afternoons, the sun hangs low,
in the Chapel room where laughter flows,
Wilma sits with stories of grace and cheer,
her words weave wisdom that draws us near.
With a gentle smile, she begins to share,
a tale of kindness, woven with care.
Refreshments are ready— a sweet little spread—
as we gather ‘round tables where friendships are bred.
Lyn is there with her vibrating glow, and Roxanne shouts loud:
“winner, winner! chicken dinner!” she’ll crow.
Gail and her sister June laugh side-by-side,
while Kathy‘s keen eyes say victory as her guide.
Nancy might struggle; her tiles often sway—
yet each game she plays brightens up the day.
Arlene and Pat add warmth to our crew,
as Trudy recounts tales from places a new.
Doris whispers softly: look closely now,
for every small move holds magic somehow.
Linda brings joy; Ruth shares a grin—
and Ellen, Michelle and Cheryl come when they can sneak in.
Each turn of the tiles tells stories untold,
of triumphs and losses through memories bold;
we hope for dear Fran to join in our fun—
her laughter like sunlight warming everyone.
Then Pastor Keith peeks in with a prayer so sincere—
his blessing surround us like love drawing near.
With hearts intertwined and spirits ablaze,
in this Rummikub haven, we cherish these days.
So here’s to our gathering— each player a part;
in games filled with friendship lies joy at its heart;
the tiles may be shuffled but bonds never break—
through laughter and love is the joy that we make!
“I’m certainly not that clever to put words into rhyme,
grand-kids said “Oma, we got this”, in under 3 minutes
they produced the above, apparently there’s an app for this!
Of course there is!”
Hope to see you there!!
